UK PM working with allies on viable plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK will not be drawn into a "wider war" over Iran and he is “working with allies” on a viable plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He made the comments as he announced a £53m support package for “vulnerable" UK households who have been hit by a sharp increase in the price of heating oil due to the conflict in the Middle East. The PM says support will be "targeted" to help low-income households in rural communities, although local councils will decide who qualifies and how the money is distributed.
