France: Far-right and far-left lead polls • FRANCE 24 English

On April 18 and May 2 next year, France will vote to elect a new president to replace Emmanuel Macron. The outgoing president, who has served two terms, cannot run again, while the latest opinion polls are predicting a victory for Marine Le Pen of the far-right National Rally. Although the election is still more than seven months away, several potential candidates have already thrown their hats into the ring and announced their candidacies, including far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon and former centre-right Prime Minister Édouard Philippe. But do any of them stand a chance of beating the far right? France 24 International Affairs editor Philip Turle shares further insights. #FrenchElections #Far-right #France 🔔 Subscribe to France 24 now: https://f24.my/YTen 🔴 LIVE - Watch FRANCE 24 English 24/7 here: https://f24.my/YTliveEN 🌍 Read the latest International News and Top Stories: https://www.france24.com/en/ Like us on Facebook: https://f24.my/FBen Follow us on X: https://f24.my/Xen Bluesky: https://f24.my/BSen and Threads: https://f24.my/THen Browse the news in pictures on Instagram: https://f24.my/IGen Discover our TikTok videos: https://f24.my/TKen Get the latest top stories on Telegram: https://f24.my/TGen
